BURNING PERMITS

Burning permits are needed whenever the ground is not snow covered from January 1 through May 31 and other times when the department so orders. Permits can be obtained from local emergency fire wardens and DNR ranger stations. Burning without a permit is permissible between June 1st and December 31st. You need to advise your local fire district of the date and time you intend to burn unless the burning takes place inside of a barrel.
